MEDICAL & BEHAVIORAL
Full-disclosure: we do not teach our dogs salsa dancing in our adoption prep program :)
NMPA! does our very best to ensure healthy, adoptable animals by providing a pre-adoption assessment, veterinary care and other adoption preparatory services to meet the individual needs of each of our incoming rescues. To the best of our ability, we provide as much information as possible regarding the animal’s behavior and personality. Spay/neuter is required for all of our adoptables. All NMPA adoptables receive de-worming, flea/tick prevention, age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and heart-worm disease testing if over 6 months of age.
If you may be interested in Sponsoring the rescue of a dog or cat, donations may be completed on the right-hand side of this page. There is comment area available to you in the online donation format to leave any specific info regarding your donation. As an example, it costs us an average of $250 to complete medical intake for a new rescue dog coming in to our program as 90% of the dogs entering our rescue program require vaccinations, heart worm testing and spay/neuter surgery and sometimes more. If the dog or cat requires behavioral modification work the rescue costs can be must higher. All donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
Please DONATE to help NMPA! save more lives of at-risk shelter pets in New Mexico.
